ABOUT US.

We know that you will arrive at Ruthven House, for the first time, as a guest. We hope that when you leave us, you will bid us farewell as a friend.

May we, therefore, take a moment or two to introduce ourselves.

Bobbi hails from London where she was born and brought up before embarking, at the tender age of seventeen, on what was to become a long and successful musical career as the Vocalist in the Bobbi Jean Trio. Now that our performing days are all but behind us, she has more time to enjoy tending the lovely garden round the House and enjoying her interests in flowers, antiques and interior design. During the winter months she also keeps her hand in at tapestry.

Alastair, on the other hand, is a dyed-in-the-wool Scot with roots in Kingussie going back almost 100 years since his family first moved to the Town. He simply adores the history and legend of the area and is more than happy to share this knowledge with you during your visit.

Our paths first crossed when our group- originally called Combo d’Ecosse - was formed over 40 years ago.

Following a name change we have been fortunate to have toured the world, working the same circuit as Ike & Tina Turner and Bob Hope and enjoying performing with the likes of Val Doonican, Max Bygraves, Kenny Ball, Billy Eckstein, Lonnie Donnigan, P J Proby and Frankie Vaughan to name just a few.

Some seven years after we first met, we got married. We have a son, James, who has now returned to live and work locally. We are delighted that both our marriage and our group are still going strong, with the Trio giving occasional performances.

Our main focus these days is, however, your enjoyment and comfort when you come to stay with us.
